Quarantine is quarantine. This is the approach taken by Taiwan and it has worked and they have paid a heavy price. Almost got stuck in Taiwan due to the quarantine and a number of my colleagues did get stuck there. The down side of quarantine is if the virus does break out, it's Katy bar the door as there is very little in the way herd immunity in the population.

Those sort of quarantines for something not much worse than the flu are breaking civilization. Which shall we keep?
