I’m fairly certain the Navy wouldn’t use a helicopter to recover the ejected pilot from the aircraft carrier’s deck.

Don't take it personal, but you are a 100% wrong. When a person goes overboard and the ship is doing ~30MPH+, they don't wait for the ship to come to a stop to deploy a liberty boat to pick them up..

I think you may have misunderstood freepersup. Had the pilot landed on the carrier deck, a helicopter rescue would not have been necessary. Freepersup was implying that since a helicopter rescue was required, the pilot did land in the ocean.
