The Burton’s were hardcore communists, along with the other Burton brother. Sala and Phil had direct ties to the Communist Party, often through fronts and events.
If the other university professors’ newsletter TOCSIN is online, take a look at the stories about their communist activities. Also let us know where we can find/view them.
My computer died so I’m limited in my searching abilities right now.
I agree with what you write. But now that Newt has said this it a hammer to use against Quisling Republicans.
Imagine McCarthy now getting this question: “Former Speaker Gingrich says Liz Cheney could be arrested. How do you feel about that?” This makes McCarthy’s seat warm and puts the Quisling RINOs on defense. That can only be good.
Newt obviously did not follow how intrepid the GOP was when it last had the House and Senate, WITH A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT, no less! They didn’t even stop Big Tech from running roughshod over conservatives, nor try to break their monopoly power. Heck, they stayed silent when several of those companies openly colluded to shut down Parler! Unless we attack a bunch of RINO’s in the primaries and take them down, nothing will change.
He does. He is still an environmental, global warming shill. I am so glad we judge our politician on saying the right words and not what they actually do. What a relief /s
23. Thanks for looking for the old TOCSIN newsletters but they were only published approximately between 1960-65 by two professors, I think at UC BERKELEY or LA.
One of the best newsletters for keeping track of California communists, ever, with devastating photos.
I have some copies so if I ever get my unemployment payments (the Dems were totally incompetent in their handling/mishandling their unemployment compensation program that their are major lawsuits out there), I will try to get them put online.
If they get the House back and bigger majority in Senate it will be another crap sandwich of a few committees with some heated questions that will end just like IRS and Benghazi televised hearings. McConnell, Grassley, Graham will put on a good show and they make it die.
Well that photo in 2008 with him sitting on a couch with Pelosi flaunting compromise on global warming didn’t do him any favors.
> “And people here on FR didn’t like him because he’d been married three times.”
And “some” people, “some”.
The same such people would not disparage divorced Ronald Reagan because he was a beloved American Icon who took down the Soviet Union.
Understand there are and have been since FR’s beginnings a “bot” group that injects discord into the forum. Point them out to notify lurkers but always include “All” in the To field when responding.
Another republican smoking the Kraken.
I think you’re right. I always felt there was an organized attack on Newt simply because he held the line and was very effective. There were a lot in the GOP who were “embarrassed” by him too and joined with the Dems.
There were some attackers on here who posed as Evangelicals and were horrified by the “immorality” of Newt’s 3 marriages.
BTW, the first marriage was basically after he was seduced as an underage boy by a teacher many years older, the second was a rebound to somebody who treated him well, and the third was (and is) to a woman he met who was singing in the choir. Hardly the stuff of scandal, but whoever posted this stuff freaked out the Evangelicals so badly that suddenly Gingrich became toxic.
There are certainly things he should answer for...sitting next to Pelosi in a magazine cover, for example. But since Trump himself was always very nice and conciliatory to Pelosi I guess he can get a pass on that one.
(Just as an aside, I’ve always felt that Trump should have demanded an apology and even censure in the house after Nancy ripped up the SOTU.)
