I reviewed one last summer. Nice vehicle, for a Ford. BUT.
I took it on a road trip, two hours on the highway. Had to charge it after an hour, took an hour, and that made is curtail our trip so we’d actually have some time for lunch at a closer destination.
And when I got home I added up the charging fees and it was about 60 Canadian dollars.
Two weeks later, my wife and I did the exact same trip in my 2005 Audi A4 Quattro sport wagon. V6, premium fuel. No hourlong delay to recharge and when I finally filled up a week or so later it cost about $50 Canadian.
Helluva incentive to go electric.
To be fair, it would work well as a commuter vehicle, depending on the commute, it for travel? Forget it.
The Pinto just wouldn’t be the same without the exploding gas tank (That Ralph Nader assured us came as a standard feature)...
