“Soylent Green”

That is the perfect solution.

Any crew members not needed for the return voyage (or who die due to in-flight “issues”) are fed to the soylent green machine.

These future missions have Donner Party written all over them.

There was another Sci-Fi movie called “Silent Running” that reminded me of this issue.

I have a feeling the solution will have to do with microbes that can be grown in dark, hot-houses.
