One of my daughters is a teacher and I know several of her colleagues. They are all complaining about the system and are looking for ways out, but one universal belief among them is that the teachers are not to blame; it's always "they" who are causing the crisis and not doing anything to fix the problem.

It sucks to find out, or even suspect, that you are "the other guy".

Well, “the system” does control their continued employment.

However, ‘the system’ is controlled by an elected school board. We control that! It’s time to stop looking at school board elections as either an annoyance and we don’t show up to vote (if its part of an ‘off-year election’ election!). Rule-of-Thumb: All “ins” vote out! If endorsed by the teacher’s union avoid them, meaning don’t vote for them (Social ostracism is optional!). If they have an education degree, they are probably leftist tainted particularly if it’s a degree granted in the last 30 years so don’t vote for them. Vote “No” on all school bonds! Also put pressure on your state & county officials to demand accountability from all education officials. Note senior educrat administrators are among the highest paid officials in your county and state! Why? It’s certainly not for performance !
