The diagram you posted fits the photos. Looks like he was parked at the red light and the Prius turned wide and ran into him. I wonder if there are other roads nearby that are two-lanes or two lanes but one way that the Prius may have gotten confused? She didn’t just sort of stray over the line - she was IN the lane.
“Looks like he was parked at the red light and the Prius turned wide and ran into him.”
The *DM* article reported that the Prius was making a U-turn.
My guess is, that the Prius did [U-]turn wide, and the Yukon SUV was barely out of its position on Allenford Ave. (and commencing the start of its turn), when the front of the Prius collided with the front of the Yukon SUV.
From that moment, I am again guessing, that the Prius either [miraculously?] managed to push Yukon SUV backward, or Arnold put the Yukon SUV into reverse, and to the right-rear of the Yukon SUV, so that the right-rear passenger door (and some of the adjacent right-rear quarter panel, of the Yukon SUV collided with the white Mazda alongside the Allenford Ave. curb.
And then the Prius driver continued to be alarmed, and instead of stopping, continued to press the gas pedal and managed to get under the front of the Yukon SUV, enough, to drive the up-lifted and somewhat-traction-less Yukon SUV, backward a bit more, yet away from the white Mazda, when the backward motion was finally stopped by the Porsche Cayenne at the rear of the Yukon SUV.
Maybe.
