Once i had big raised pickup with a piano in the bed rear end me. The truck stopped just on the rear roof. I was glad I was in a Ford granada, had a bit of whiplash. Was sad about the car. Wish I still had it. I have a picture some where.
My father had a black Ford Granada back in the day when we lived in Santa Barbara.
You sound like you were happy with yours.
My father’s Ford Granada was a lemon....a vehicle from hell.
The transmission fluid would turn brown after a short period of time. It wasn’t supposed to do that.
Also, it didn’t handle well on the road. The car swayed a bit when driven on the freeway.
One time, I borrowed the Granada and drove to Los Angeles.
A girl I knew from back East was visiting her uncle, and I took her to Disneyland for the day.
On the way back to her uncle’s apartment, I was driving on the freeway at night between Orange County and LA. The car, as usual, was swaying a bit.
I got pulled over by the California Highway Patrol. The police officer approached the rolled down window; he thought I was a drunk driver! Back in those days, there was no alcohol served in Disneyland, and I’m not the type to drink and drive anyway.
I explained to him about the Granada. He seemed to believe me, but had a “What the Hell” look on his face.
He went back to his car and after a while, he drove off.
I’m glad you had a better experience with your Granada.
