I did my due diligence and read the article but I didn’t see any mention of the species of monkey that escaped. Depending on the species of monkeys they could live in urban areas even through the winter because some, like macaques, are smart enough to figure out how to stay warm. However thr fact that they escaped in the winter means they probably will not have enough time to learn.
I must have looked at about ten articles on this. They all say almost the same thing. None of them have a lot of details about it.
