Chicago woman reports being carjacked just days after getting car back from previous carjacking

CHICAGO - A Chicago woman who reported being carjacked on Saturday night had just gotten her car back after she was carjacked three days earlier, according to a local report.

A 39-year-old female was sitting inside her car in the 5100 block of N. Broadway around midnight when three unknown men wearing all black, ski masks, and rack suits approached her, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) told Fox News on Monday morning.

The men pointed a gun at her and demanded her vehicle before fleeing with the car. No one has been arrested as of early Monday, police said.

The woman was also the victim of a previous carjacking that happened in the 5400 block of N. Winthrop at 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, CWB Chicago reported.

In that incident, a 39-year-old woman had been sitting in her car when three unknown Black men approached her, police told Fox News. One man pointed a handgun at her head while the other two suspects pulled her out of the car. The suspects then fled with the victim’s car.

This article once again allows the truthful and honest description of the three males. I have seen this two or three times lately in crime reports. I wonder if that is a sign of something good.

Out of curiosity, was it the Romanian Kosher Sausage Co. on N. Clark?

To my knowledge I've never driven on N. Broadway or N. Clark when in Chicago but always admired from the air (on my way out of town) how orderly the nearby Loyola campus looked.

Out of curiosity, was it the Romanian Kosher Sausage Co. on N. Clark?

It was 38 years ago, so I do not remember. It might have had a different name then, as I might have made a note of such a name, and I don't think they specialized in sausages.

My friend had been non-observant, but decided to keep kosher for a while (within limits, didn't have two sets of cookware, for instance) in honor of his recently deceased grandfather.

I DO remember that the ground beef was the bloodiest beef I had ever seen in my life. The method employed for draining the blood is apparently less efficient than modern machinery.

Thanks for your reply. The storefront is in the background photo at https://iwantromanian.com/about-us/. Interestingly, in the same era, the early 80s, I drove through the South Side on the way to a high-school chum's wedding. It seemed depressed, but not gratuitously dangerous.

My place didn’t have much in the way of signage. It sort of seemed like those who wanted what they had got word where to go (from a synagogue? We used Yellow Pages.)

South Side is a large area, and there’s a lot of difference where I was (Hyde Park and close to Kenwood) and farther south along the shore (Stony Island), and heading west of Cottage Grove. Hyde Park is much worse than I remember it.
