I know MANY people who have died from COVID. I just don’t come on here and talk about it. I suspect I’m not alone here.
A young man I know who was in his thirties died of COVID a few weeks ago. I had the unfortunate experience of getting the text about it while I was out with a friend who poo-poos all of this COVID stuff. I told her what had happened immediately after receiving the text and I was clearly upset. Her reaction was not, “I’m so sorry,” but she said, “Are you sure it was COVID?” and then “Maybe he was diabetic.” That made me feel *so* much better knowing that he might have been diabetic. He deserved to die if he was diabetic.
Frankly, I’m sick of the nastiness this virus has brought out in people - on ALL sides.
Don’t know anybody who died from it. And so it goes.
Anecdotes.
just curious, do you live in a large urban area surrounded by liberals? or in a more rural setting among primarily conservatives.
Because part of my suspicion is that this is affecting rural areas much more and thus the wide discrepancy in how people view this virus. Because honestly, it would be a lot easier to take it seriously for someone who had lost people close to them.

Yep, and many are pro vaccine but have to stay in the closet or get attacked unmercifully.
A friend of mine caught it in December 2020, most his family got it too. He lasted a month, most of that in the ICU, it just kept getting worse. Finally shut down his kidneys at the end. Killed him and three elderly aunts. That’s the only one I’ve known personally but I know of others, friends of friends. I’d say six deaths offhand. I also know many who have caught it and who weren’t all that ill, me included. You just can’t predict how it will affect you.
