Well, good for you. I personally don't have that kind of absolutist faith in any human being.
But you have enough faith in rumors to think because something might be possible, we should doubt leaders who have been good.
A lot of things might be possible....I might be a dying monkey who has suddenly become self aware. It might be possible the earth exists in a plane separate from all other reality.
But apparently it bothers you muchly if realists choose to look at actual statements. Weird.
That's my wife's current theory, but I think it may just be that she's so fond of them both equally that she just doesn't want to have to deal with the thought of possibly having to pick a side. Admittedly, that's the best possible outcome of this, but with DeSantis being on the ballot already here in 2022, they better be careful about how this in handled, whether they are in cahoots or not.
Once again...NO. I'm not saying we should "doubt" Trump, or take any kind of action based on these particular rumors. That requires proof.
But I'm kind of curious as to what you mean by "doubt" in this context. Is it "doubting" Trump to think he is capable of saying negative things about other Republicans he considers rivals? Because based on absolutely verified, public statements he made in 2015/2016, I already know he'll do that. Now, whether or not that should impact voting for him is an entirely different question. But is he the kind of guy who does that? Absolutely, and you know that.
A lot of things might be possible....I might be a dying monkey who has suddenly become self aware. It might be possible the earth exists in a plane separate from all other reality.
Great examples, so let's look at them:
1) What are the odds you are actually a dying monkey who has suddenly become self-aware? Virtually infinite, which means that is implausible in the extreme. 2) What are the odds that earth exists in a plane separate from all other reality. Actually, I have no idea on that one, although it also would fall under the category of irrelevancy. 3) What are the odds that Trump would say something negative about a Republican rival for the nomination? Is that a "highly implausible", "never happen in a million years" type of thing equivalent to you being a self-aware monkey? Or did we already see that exact thing happen repeatedly during 2016 campaign? That makes these particular rumors about DeSantis plausible, but it doesn't mean that it actually did happen.
But again...this is all another reason I consider it irrelevant. I already know that Trump is the type of guy who will take a lot of verbal shots at GOP rivals for the nomination. So, whether this particular instance with DeSantis happened or not doesn't change my view of Trump in the slightest, because I already knew that's who he is.
Looks like your vanity yesterday started a new trend? Good luck stopping it now.
“But again...this is all another reason I consider it irrelevant. I already know that Trump is the type of guy who will take a lot of verbal shots at GOP rivals for the nomination. So, whether this particular instance with DeSantis happened or not doesn’t change my view of Trump in the slightest, because I already knew that’s who he is.”
Again, actual facts being relevant aren’t important to you. Good gravy I seriously hope you do not ever preside over a court of law. We have enough of those types appointed by Obama and boy have they done everything they can to create chaos and destroy the country just like...FAKE NEWS!
Definitely.
I already know that Trump is the type of guy who will take a lot of verbal shots at GOP rivals for the nomination.
I mean...are you saying didn't do that in 2015/16??
And as usual our resident low info freepers saying “gosh, I’m so sick of Trump bashing people, I’m done with him!!” Every time the enemedia pimps this garbage.
LOL, or they raise their fists, one side is for DeSantis, the other Trump. Then go on and on based on fake news reports with no sources.
I believe your statement about how you feel President Trump campaigned in 2015/2016 has zero relevance when discussing second hand rumors of a media induced fake feud with Ron DeSantis.
You keep putting forth the idea that Ron DeSantis is his political rival with zero credible evidence whatsoever to make the “feud” nonsense seem plausible.
The problem is that your foregone conclusion that they are political rivals is a false premise and the rest of the argument fails from that point onward.
My point is not "we know he did it to DeSantis in 2021 because he did it in 2015/16.". As you correctly point out, we don't even know if Trump considers DeSantis a rival.
But that's also why I don't care about the rumors. I know that Trump did it in 2015/16 because I heard him with my own ears. So it is at least plausible.
Then again, there's always the possibility that he's changed, is a different guy than he was in 2016, and so wouldn't go after any rivals the same way. So whether this particular allegation is true or not - which we don't know - doesn't matter. All that matters is whether he actually says stuff publicly.
Whispered rumors behind the scenes are - true or not - irrelevant to me.
Lol I don’t tend to answer rhetorical questions and this one is a huge leap to your “point.”
You seem entrenched on what you “feel” is the case, and then want others to jump to your same conclusions that begin with a false premise.
We will learn what we need to know about Ron DeSantis this year.
How he handles this cra-cra chicky will tell you if he’s a fighter or not.
That’s why I never got too into the Cruz vs Trump thing back in 2016, it is just politics. And until Cruz mouthed off on J6, I was in his corner, no more.
I get it. Been involved with local party for a while as have other family members.
But this isn’t about “oh it’s just politics.”
This is about a media induced feud fed by Never TRumpers with two leaders on a national stage. They hate Trump and don’t even like DeSantis being in the Governor’s chair in one of the fastest growing states and it isn’t all that difficult to see this is manufactured and why it’s coming out now.
Yes, Cruz said some dumbass things about 2/6. He of all people knows damn well it was,at worst, to quote an, ahem, cough cough, esteemed member of Congress the day when some people did something. A couple of windows were broken causing a few thousand $$ in damage and some psycho in a Viking getup puts his feet on Prlousi’s desk. Yeah they broke the law but it ain’t like they knocked down any statues and tried to torch the place. This justified holding people in custody for almost a year? Where’s his outrage at the lack of DUE PROCESS and the right to FAIR AND SPEEDY TRIALS?
And Cruz wanted to set himself apart from the pack early on and did so quite stupidly in 2016. That was not media induced which makes it even more stupid.
Such a contrast to DeSantis who has governed well. So many of us were not going to vote for Trump, but did and we’re more than pleasantly surprised.
Okay, that explains this folderol.
