As a newbie to FR, the “anthropologist” side of my thoughts goes to observing who posts what and how things a posted. All in all, FR is a fascinating site and exercise in observing people.
Your question has been my question, as those who opt for “Covid” media-driven fear post in clusters with support from like fellows. And the game's afoot.
The “pandemic” hinges on accepting “official” data, and as anomalies are observed, those who then grasp at other data sources generally fail to account for the root failings in the original and “official” data.
But when data, data collection and analysis are faulty, then additional massaging of that data becomes — as you say — “shilling.”
As of 18 January 2022, Johns Hopkins University's "official" data --

This two year "pandemic" event has affected the world by killing "officially" seven one-hundredths of the global population. That's the "official" data's story.
All the "excess deaths" calculations, the references to models and estimates and "presumed" this and that are built on the shifting sand of "virus" death to seven one-hundredths of the global population.
