I tend to think of fascism as National-Leninism. It was Lenin who invented “democratic centralism”, the sophistical rationale for complete party control of all human behavior - the bedrock of totalitarianism.
The leftists simply dump the Marxist hooey and substitute a more malleable ideology, currently called “Wokeism” in the American setting.
