Hmm. Random, you say? Victim was Asian. Does the ethnicity of the perpetrator represent a random sample of the local population, just like all the other perpetrators who make unprovoked attacks against Asians do? Or, is there some statistically non-random component to the attacker? (In which case it wouldn’t be random, now, would it?)
