Had a teacher with a similar attitude in high school. He was a great teacher by the way.
After he returned our graded tests one day I noticed at the top of mine: "-1 99 GP".
I asked about it and he said no one ever does perfect work so if necessary he would take off one point on general principles. No one ever got above 99 on his tests.
