My nieces husband went to work for a large healthcare company as it’s chief financial officer. Mid 6 figure salary.
He had 10-11 interviews, a background check that was similar to top secret clearance. Total process was almost 6 months.
These companies want to make sure they are hiring the right person in the top slots.
Good point about the top slots and C-level people. Yes, careful vetting is essential as the impact of that person’s abilities/decisions can ripple through the organization in both good and bad ways. Hiring the wrong person can have profound and lasting consequences so its definitely worth putting some time and effort into vetting those folks.
