Good management can inject some fun into work. The most productive places I worked in had high humor quotients. They kept the office environment loose but promoted high standards of performance, celebrated team accomplishments, recognized talent, and encouraged people to develop their skills.
No place is perfect and every office has its ups and downs. But office chemistry is very important IMO. You spend so much time there you may as well try to enjoy it.
