Umm... the two generals problem is still unsolvable to my knowledge. To compound the problem, how will we know that those speaking out are actually doctors, nurses, EMTs, etc? They would have to put their credentials out there to be validated.
In IT security, you have a triangle known as CIA: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. Any one of those legs fail, and you could compromise an entity. Confidentiality is somewhat moot here, as they’ll be “outing” themselves. Integrity speaks to the former problem: how do we know they are actually licensed or practicing or even telling the truth? Finally, what happens if all of the platforms used for this distribution are suddenly unavailable? If we think that Substack couldn’t be DDoSed on the day of disclosure, we might be in for a surprise.
I hope it goes through, but announcing this early and publicly and attempting early coordination gives the enemies of free speech time to come up with a plan.
Should be a back up plan WHEN the FBI and bad actors start braking things with mega hats on. Stopping them from harming police and braking things wasn’t enough at the capital on Jan 6 2021
