Spirit Airways was the airline that stranded a whole planeload of paid ticket=holders when it decided... WITHOUT ANY NOTICE.. to stop serving a major city....
Spirit took that decision a couple MONTHS before its cancellation
and NO notice to anybody.
A compassionate ticketing crew at a neighboring airline’s managed to find alternate flights for most of us, but it cost extra due to the lack of advance bookings. $2200 extra for each seat (there was only an hour to run across the airport and catch the other airliner .. it was already warning up )
Spirit refused to refund or credit for the loss they caused, plus they were rude
we will NEVER EVER book on Spirit again
Horrible airline. My husband’s flight just all of a sudden disappeared from their list of incoming flights a half hour away from landing.None of us waiting could get any answers from customer service. People thought it had crashed.They locked the door to their office and left. I can understand why someone would be mad enough to beat them.
