<>I live in New York State, so it’s not as if my vote counts anyway.<>
Yikes. So true.
Even here in the relatively free state of FL I’m sympathetic. The rats stole 2020 and the follow-on special GA senator elections. When it comes to presidential elections I’m reminded of the definition of insanity.
Unless some rats do prison time, I’ll be reluctant to vote in 2024.
In the coming midterms, we know darn well that most pubbies hope to win just because there isn’t a “D” after their name.
Not good enough.
All those RINOs listed are not honorable. Trump knows that. Any agreement with them would have immediately been thrown to the wind; they would have convicted him anyway.
I doubt there was an agreement.
I think it is closer to the truth they had removed him from office; that military leadership and Congress conspired along with several corporations (Twitter etc).
What the public got the remaining days was televised lies to hide the fact that not only had the election been stolen, the US had descended into a 3rd world despotic state.
He should have done it on the way out, and let the chips fall where they may. They weren’t going to let him win, anyway.
Trump built his empire on several principles related to his treatment of people and relative to his reputation.
When stopped from pursuing a business decision he typically pushed through where possible and withdrew when the project became infeasible. Rarely did he offend anyone in this process. His bargaining power was in his ability to create a win win for each party.
As to his personal reputation he has always been committed to maintaining positive relations. Democrats were his friends because he provided money and support for their causes. It was not until he ascended to the presidency that he was confronted with an entire political party committed to stopping him at any cost.
I believe this shook him to his core. He has never been confrontational yet this opposition forced him to become so. It was a position he did not cherish.
Well said
Good business execs are always looking to negotiate win/win situations.
Unfortunately, that scenario won’t work when you’re dealing with an adversary who refuses to accept any outcome that doesn’t include your utter destruction.
Precisely. I do not believe he ever encountered this level of contempt in his business dealings.
He would be a magnificent Vice President under a bulldog like DeSantis. That would be an astounding pair. Will never happen.
This is really an outstanding thread. Unfortunately, not that many posters will see
it because it’s not on the sidebar, and I don’t know how to move a thread classified “chit/chat” to the sidebar. If only it could be “extended news” or “opinion”
I don't live in FL so I can't vote for/against rubio and I was responding to your big mouthed 'prediction' about which you have zero conviction.
You make a bullshit statement, followed by "MY PREDICTION" and when called on it, refuse to back it with more than words.
SAD.
Ok, gotcha. Big difference, yeah. I would have pardoned Assange particularly since it turned out years later that the grope charges that were used to fence him into the Ecu Embassy were Swedish Chef home-cooking, but the int'l alphabets know he would go right back to work unmasking. Which is why I would have pardoned him.
Talk about “big mouth”, your FOUL Mouth demonstrates that you have no clue about Rubio and a total lack of respect for others opinions on this site.
There are plenty of morons over at DU, perhaps you should join them.
yeah, read this yesterday, sad...
GG is bout the last of the real reporters
pretty much... Bill was a seer
Carter's Vietnam pardon issued January 21, 1977. Vietnam War ended January 27, 1973 (Paris Peace Accords signing).
Both basically 3-year gaps after the fact. So to that end, Trump could sign a Jan6 pardon on his first day in office January 20, 2025. That's 4 years and 14 days but same general idea as the Civil War and Vietnam pardons.
