By the way, since you mentioned Corrie Ten Boom, I wonder if you have read much about Father Maximilian Kolbe? I first read about him 25 years ago — very inspiring. I’m not Catholic, but I’m drawn to the stories of many of the Catholic saints.
Maximilian is at a level many of us can only dream of. They would hit him, sick the dogs on him, he would turn the other cheek, he wouldn’t respond in kind. Sacrificed his life for a young family man. They finally dispatched him in the starvation bunker with an injection as he was still singing days in.
