Ha! I had one and I got lucky... she moved away 😁
My pastor said you don’t have to like everyone, but you have to love them.
I’m not sure if that’s applicable here.
I’ve pretty much cut off liberals in my life, but if I see them laying on the ground having a heart attack I will call 911.
I find this to be an extremely relevant discussion. I’ve had it m any times with wife and family. (some of them are millennials). First of all I am guilty of transgressing Christ’s Kingdom message in this area. I think you need to know what kind of liberal your neighbor is. Are they just discouraged, beaten down by life and find their only solace in liberal prescriptions? These kind can be ministered to by the Gospel and shown love. The other kind of liberal is a hardened self loathing University of Missouri journalism type that hates you with and unmitigated passion. With these you must give a reason for the hope that lies within you. You don’t have to give ground to their satanic fury. They do want to destroy everything good about our country, our faith, and our beliefs. Jesus said this type of person would hate you. You can only pray the Grace of God will heal them sometime. But the Bible says that the way is narrow to Him and broad to destruction. I do believe hat we are salt and light in a wicked and adulterous world. Until the Master comes back we will be confronted by the wicked insanity of the world. God Bless all of you believing Freepers!
“My pastor said you don’t have to like everyone, but you have to love them.”
Did your pastor skip Romans 12:9 when he was in Bible college? “Let love be without dissimulation. ABHOR THAT WHICH IS EVIL; cleave to that which is good.”
It’s come to the point where politics no longer is a difference of opinion. “They” are evil — some demonically possessed or, at least, demonically influenced. Evil. Abhor it.
And perhaps to truly love them, you must rebuke them and teach them the true path of righteousness and what God has said about things like faggotry. You could be saving their soul. But realistically, thre’s a 99% chance they won’t listen and you will only anger them.
It’s a tough situation for sure. Good luck. I can only recommend much prayer about the situation.
Thank you for the verse. I will reflect upon it.
My natural inclination is to hate liberals because of the evil they promote. Definitely something i struggle with.
An old methodist pastor once told me “you can forgive your neighbor, but you don’t have to let him live under your porch!”
Are you a liberal? And pretty sure Jesus wasn’t talking about slightly heated anonymous language occurring between voluntary participants in an internet debate.
Yep, pray for them as they herd you into camps...
And, do you believe in evil?
I liked the “Hanging” part!
I liked the “Hanging” part!
I liked the “Hanging” part!
Speak the truth. That always works.
Here’s an idea: Everyone has the right to be wrong.
Just what do you think love would like in this context? Is a smile and a wave sufficient? What about chats about every day things, but no politics?
If the neighbor had been sick for a month with an upper respiratory infection, but lacked the money to pay for an anti-biotic, would you pay for a drs. visit and the script, which is exactly what Jesus describes in the parable?
That’s what this boils down to - What is required in order to love the neighbor.
Well done.
Are we required to be friends and hang out with them and approve of their sodomy and other degeneracy? I think not. But we are required to love them.
I pray for my neighbors and then go target shooting in my backyard...
Because I can.
Only reflect Gods love onto them by your actions that come from Him because, it is a false testimony to God to just fake it.
Gods love works through me in that I don’t shoot them. You see?
Remember they will turn you in for anything that will give them social justice points. Including putting you on the cattle car.
All that is great. However, we do not have to be pacifists when fighting evil. There are passages that cover that as well.
