The New York state attorney general on Friday released footage of a man bursting into flames after being tased by cops inside an upstate police station in October, an encounter that led to his death.
The disturbing surveillance video shows members of the Catskill Police Department running away, leaving the man as he desperately tries to put out the flames engulfing his upper body and head.
Jones is seen dousing his bare torso and hair with flammable hand sanitizer from a large pump bottle that was on a table.
Within seconds, three officers advance towards him. One of them draws his Taser and fires it at Jones, who is out of the camera’s frame.
Jones then bursts into flames, and comes back into the camera’s frame as he rolls on the floor; his chest, back and head fully engulfed in fire.

Don’t burn me alive ‘bro.
It was a clean shoot.
They ran out and locked him in to burn.
And all the cops run away and close the door rather than trying to put out the flames. But the good news is, he is white. His life doesn’t matter.
Yeah, lit him up and ran for cover. Weird turn of events . Tasers, what can go wrong ?

Bet he doesn’t do that again.
I heard about this story maybe three weeks ago.
The man in question, Jason J. was known to the police.
I get the impression Jason would often come down to the station half drunk, ranting about whatever. He was tolerated because 10 years prior, he was a star athlete in High School.
The cops may have figured he was a harmless nuisance.
This time, he made all the wrong moves. Even though his head and neck were alight for ‘only’ under two minutes, it was enough to severely damage him. Even then, Jason, delayed getting help by pushing people away and arguing with them.
That ‘arguing’ and those grabbing motions may have been because he was suddenly in a panic. When the stretcher came, he didn’t want to get on it.
More time wasted. I don’t know why the notorious Letitia (I Hate White Folks!) James is interested in this case.
Sad ending to anybody’s life.
Maybe powers that be want to remove the present police chief from his job, and by any means necessary.
Obvious case of self defense.
You know? I can't recall an flaming immolation from a PR-24?
Surely the state of Florida is involved in this incident.
Yeah he slathered himself with the flammable goo. He chose poorly.
When things can’t get worse, call the cops. Then it will. Black/back the blue. I don’t care. I don’t need them. I have 300 ft of clear firing line. Just try walking up or driving up the driveway.
Wow, what a sad end. Some of those sanitizers reek , I can’t imagine slathering that stuff on.
Build a man a fire, warm him for a day. Set him on fire, keep him warm the rest of his life...
Guessing they were running for an extinguisher or something...

That’s kind of what I was thinking. I wonder how many riots there would have been, if the guy had been black?
