Delta is still around.
I believe testing sites need to ensure people in testing lines with low death risk omicron don’t catch higher death risk delta from others in testing lines.
Testing should be by appointment to help prevent the spread of delta to omicron-infected persons.
From what I've read, Delta was 24% of the cases 2 weeks ago, 10% this week. I suspect less next week.
Went to medical school. Was taught that virus mutates to strains that are less pathogenic and spread more because infectious people aren't sick enough to stay home.
Usually they offer immunity to the original virus that was more deadly and spread less because the people who have the original infected variant stay home and didn't spread it as much.
This is what we are watching now.

Omicron is defeating Delta by giving us immunity to it. If you have Omicron, you don’t get Delta!
Read that Delta was 25% of the cases 2 weeks ago, 10% last week and estimated 2% of all cases by next week.
Omicron is God’s vaccine. It needs to be spread. At this point I think standing in line is worth it since it’s probably spreading Omicron. It’s a choice.
