In the UP of Michigan the cattle farmers are turning donkeys out with the cattle...two or three.
Near Bark River there was one farmer that had loses of 37 cattle a season on his farm. He turned out three burros and has not lost one cow to wolves since.
BUT, they found out that if you turn a Jack out, your dogs might get killed by the Jack. Jennys wont do that. I guess a cut Jack gets just plain lazy.
