You and I are in agreement on all of this. I would like to point out three things about this that are interesting and really matter both legally and culturally:
1. I learned in my concealed carry class that I can use a gun to protect myself against someone that is threatening serious physical harm. I can also use it against someone that is threatening serious physical harm against someone else. However in the latter case, I had better be right. If it turns out I actually defended the bad guy or I mistook the actions, I’m liable for what happens. And I think the shooter is going to spend a lot of time in prison because of that.
2. Whenever you get so angry at another driver that you think you need to find a way to stop them and talk to them or give them a piece of your mind, it’s a good idea to imagine that they have a gun and they’re ready to shoot you if you seem to be a threat. And I believe that this is going to start happening more and more as our society gets more and more coarse. Hopefully these kind of people will learn to not escalate a situation.
3. I watch a lot of crash videos and I noticed nowadays most of them are more about people just being ticked at someone cutting them off or something like that. I say it this way, there are a lot of Karen’s buying dash cams now. But here’s the kicker: I see a lot of videos on people break checking other people. The funny thing is most of those people that get brake checked are laying on their horn because they’re mad at something someone did. Horns are for being used before something happens, not after. When you use your horn after something happens you’re just being a dick. And that’s even if the other guy was stupid or wrong to do what they did.
Like I said earlier, an armed society is a polite society. People will think twice about trying to take on other people over minutia if they really believe the other guy just could have a gun on them.

After my son got nailed by a woman who ran a red light while he was making a turn, we all decided to get one. Fortunately, there were several witnesses who told the sheriff what happened so he was not charged for anything.
They had no choice about calling the cops. He was in the middle of the intersection and the car was in no condition to drive anywhere.
