The episode where Dr. Melfi was raped. Damn right I wish she told Tony who did it.
“A beauty for sure but a real looney-tunes too.”
Cybill Shepherd, a world class loony indeed. Partly because really lovely women usually figure they act as they please. And are right to a certain extent.
Spielberg is not known by name?
“The episode where Dr. Melfi was raped. Damn right I wish she told Tony who did it.”
Aside from scenes like that. What I really liked was the dark humor in the Sopranos. Or when singer Frankie Valli idly expressed a wish to be on the Sopranos. Sure enough, he was on the next season for 2-3 episodes. Frankie Valli is now age 87. The bowling alley we went to had the Four Seasons on the jukebox all the time.
Oh yes, I always classified The Sopranos as a “Dark Comedy”.

Chase created The Sopranos. He is Italian-American despite the last name.
Post #34. Should’ve clarified there are fewer and fewer widely known new directors today as there used to be.
The Sopranos: Paulie at coffee shop.
Pauli gets set off about how these hippy-dippy Starbucks etc. stole espresso and cappuccino from the great Italian culture

Stole mozzarella too! The Bastards!
I once read an account of what actually happened in the Hefner bedroom with his gal pals in his old age. Total sleaze and domination. I don’t know why any woman would put up with it. Plus, his room was filthy.
The Hot Crazy Matrix.
Of course we can see exactly what was going to happen. Paul Snider had no problem using his wife. Dorothy was a very naïve young lady who married a monster, one who was hell-bent on using her to acquire fame and fortune (so long as he could absolutely control her). When she woke up and realized who and what he was and tried to get away, he was NEVER going to let that happen. Lay the blame where it belongs. It wasn’t Bogdanovich or Hefner, it was Paul Snider.
They had dogs running free all over inside the mansion crapping and pissing everywhere. Hef never really grew up. More sad than anything else.
Because at this time, people need to know.
I suspect we'll never agree here...so let's move on.
‘Words can’t describe how beautiful she was. Pictures can’t even describe how beautiful she was.’
oh please...
‘She was a blonde Audrey Hepburn.’
she didn’t resemble Hepburn in the least; more like Lauren Bacall in her heyday...
I agree. He was 100% toxic and indeed thought that because he had “discovered” her that he OWNED her. Perfect case of “If I can’t have her, no one can.”
Hollywood was always a cesspool. But placing the blame for Stratten’s horrific murder on Hefner and Bogdanovich is ridiculous. Snider was the one who found her in their native Canada, and he was never going to let go of her once he realized what he had on his hands. In fact, if anything, it was Hefner who was trying to help her get clear of Snider, realizing he was a lowlife punk. As for Bogdanovich, he was clearly in love with her and never got over her death.
Indeed, the worst thing that truly ever happened to Dorothy Stratten was being “discovered” in that Vancouver Dairy Queen by Paul Snider. Anyone remotely mentally normal had discovered her (or had she never been discovered at all), and she might’ve still been with us today (her 62nd birthday would be next month).
