Interesting, when I was traveling around in Eastern Europe especially Romania there are a lot of Turks that live there, I wonder how they feel about Vlad Tepes and the knights that killed their ancestors.

For one, Turks moved to “Turkey” after 1000 AD. It was actually rather small group of real Turks. Turkey was all part of Byzantine Emporium and inhabited by mostly Greeks, Armenians, Kurd and others. Genetically Turks are mostly Greeks, forcibly converted to Islam and turned into Turks.
After conquering Little Asia, Turks kept going, taking over Greece, Serbia Bulgaria, Rumania, Hungary, Ukraine and more. Also Middle East and North Africa. Always killing, maiming, destroying and taking slaves.
Eventually cards turned around and all those nations were slowly freeing ourselves, still fighting. Remember, that Turks were finally kicked out of Balkans during First Balkan war in 1912-1913!
Regardless, the Turks who stayed there, after Balkans war, were treated a lot more humanly than their subject before. At least no slavery! That while Turks finished their “mission” by Armenian Genocide in ~1915. And massacres of Greek civilians during the Greek Turkish conflict in 1922.
