Ghislaine Maxwell could lodge a claim of mistrial after it emerged one of the jurors who convicted her was a victim of child sex abuse.
Scotty David said he had helped the other members of the jury understand things from a victim's point of view.
He also claimed the five guilty verdicts returned last week, possibly condemning Maxwell to spend the rest of her life behind bars, were for 'all the victims'.
But legal experts said if he did not disclose his past experiences before the jury deliberations, Maxwell could have grounds to claim a mistrial and have her convictions quashed.
Moira Penza, a former federal prosecutor in New York, said: 'I certainly hope the juror disclosed this fully on his questionnaire.
'A little strange the defence didn't strike him. It could definitely be an issue.
'In the first instance it would likely form the basis for a motion to Judge [Alison] Nathan for a new trial.'
The jury took 40 hours to reach their decision and convict Maxwell on five of the six counts against her.
She is facing up to 65 years in jail.
She was convicted of trafficking young girls to be abused by her paedophile boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein.
Mr David told the Independent: 'I'm glad Maxwell has been held accountable.'

Ghislaine didn’t hang herself.
Yet.
Let her lawyer try that angle, it may work, but I don’t think it will. Unfortunately, I’ve come to the conclusion that for an adult to ‘have been a victim of sexual abuse as a child’ it’s not really all that rare. I never was, but I hear so many from every walk in life say that they or a sibling was.
Was he asked about that during jury selection?
Was he obligated to offer that information?
So, no police officer or lawyer of any kind should ever be allowed on a jury due to their “inside knowledge” and, perhaps, any bias they may have? For a long time, if you got called to jury duty and they found out someone was the police, it was an automatic...adios. Not so much anymore.
I was amazed when I found out that so many of the girls in school had been abused by their fathers
They were completely different people once the old man died and finally were able to talk about it
One had 5 daughters, molested all 5
I got out of my only jury duty because I grew up next to the arresting officer
Besides, he was a bully and an a$$hole even after we graduated
I have heard of such stories. I don’t consider myself naive. I still cannot wrap my mind around how this could have happened, then been allowed to happen over and over again without someone running to the police or to the knife drawer?
And it’s not all from Muslim or Middle Eastern families either. There is much about the Common Man I won’t ever get.

These were farmer fathers I’d known all my life. Nobody knew
How Mom didn’t or tolerated it, I have no idea
If it was on the questionnaire, he was obligated to reveal it. It wouldn’t automatically have him dismissed for cause, but the defense probably would have used a peremptory strike if they couldn’t get him dismissed for cause. Based on the nature of the charges, not having that on the questionnaire would be malpractice by the defense, in my opinion.
ha ha ha ha .....
Seems that would have been cleared up in jury selection. If neither side submitted the question, the guy wasn’t obligated to offer personal info that wasn’t asked for.
Liberalism is a Mental disorder. Look at Sweden these days. Muslim Rape gangs in Britain.
