I belong to numerous FB old car and antique tractor groups and have found parts and information I have been looking for decades.
Just the other day I found a source of an antique tractor part I have been looking for years.
Stop making politics rule your lives. Enjoy life. I never discuss politics on FB
If you shun everything commanded on FR by random posters, you must become Amish.
I deleted my Facebook account a few years ago and I don’t miss it even a little bit. Also cancelled cable TV the same week. Two of the most liberating things I have done recently. Very happy about those decisions!
Closed my FB account but kept the IM for family and friends
I sold my Facebook account to a Nigerian Prince
for ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Ask me how with this ONE SIMPLE TRICK...
Did this years ago. I signed up for FB and Twitter for one reason only, to support Donald Trump’s campaign. Once he secured the presidency I deleted both accounts completely.
If and when President Trump chooses to run for another term I will sign on again to support him. That is IF either platform will allow such support.
Rofl! Priceless!
I opened a FB account once a few years ago, but never posted anything on it. Later (probably just a few month later) I decided I hated Zuck sufficiently that I decided to delete my account and have never looked back.
I know some use it “just to stay in touch with family, friends, etc” but I don’t want to allow them to use me as fodder for their advertising revenue. Plus, no matter what, they track every thing you do!
I never had one. Not a good idea in my job. After I saw how much trouble they can cause — plus the tracking and making you fodder for ad revenue, as you pointed out — I was glad I could not have one. Now I *would* not have one.
I appreciate Libloather posting this, though, as I need to zap a deceased relative’s FB account.
For later
Facebook is forever. A friend who passed away in 2018 still has an account and is on my friends list. People are still posting on her timeline. I know of others who have passed and still have FB accounts.
I started getting ads for diabetes cures for no reason at all. They finally stopped when I reported every ad as a scam. I hardly get any ads on my timeline now.

That's what I did, and I agree it was a blast. Mocking Zuckerberg and every democRAT on his platform was just too hard to pass up.
There was no 30 days to change my mind, which was made up long before I actually did it. Have never even missed Fakebook

There is a setting in Facebook that directs what happens to your facebook account when you die. It is under General Settings, Memorialization preferences.
The only real way to be sure is to torch the servers and the backups.
Ha ha! Yeah, NextDoor is like lefty proggy riff-raff stew, always controlled by a true believer Dem Admin operative who will throw a ban and call you a bully only after standing up for yourself and beating back with logic and/or the hurtful truth.
“I quit Facebook in November 2020 and I do not miss it at all. Nor do I miss the people who really weren’t my friends.”
same here....the people I want to be in touch with are in my phone or e-mail account. Spent too much time reading and dealing with bs.
