I know Baker Creek does genetic testing on some crops to prevent GMOs from sneaking in. Is that what you mean?

I have some seeds frozen from a small squash brought over from Yugoslavia about 60+ years ago. My parents grew them for years, I grew them for years, took a couple years off but my friend who also kept seeds had mice get into hers and the few I had left did not germinate. The squash is small pear shaped hard skin and when ripe is a light yellow in color. It’s a link to my past and I gave up searching about 5 years ago and am giving it a last ditch effort now. I gave a few seeds vacuum sealed and in the freezer and wondered if genetic testing could identify them. Super long shot I know.

Contact a couple of seed banks and see if they can help. Baker Creek has their own seed bank, and might know what to do. You could even try the US government seed bank at https://www.ars-grin.gov/
I’ll also keep an eye out for anything that matches that description.
