We had commuters who went from PA to NYC every day before the shutdown. Trans-Bridge Bus Co. had a thriving business going back & forth to NY. I don’t care if I ever step foot in NYC again. Life is pleasant & safe out here in the country. We have a corner store, a gas station, a pizza place & ice cream restaurant.
Here in northeast NJ we have most things NYC has - in addition to many of the jobs that used to be in NYC. Companies could avoid the “backup site” requirement after 9/11 by simply moving less than a mile west across the Hudson River to Jersey City’s “gold coast” and further up along the river on the Jersey side.
