Just watched this episode of The Ray Bradbury Theater and it is shocking how on the mark he was about the way society was going.

Keep in mind this was originally written in 1953. I also just watched the episode The Veldt and it was shockingly accurate how about technology would replace family.

I read Fahrenheit 451 when I was in seventh grade or so.

One of the things I remember is that the main character’s wife spent most of her time watching TV in a room in which all four walls were covered with gigantic screens.

His name was Guy Montag, which as a kid I thought was a really weird name.

Also, if ran away from the police, they’d set a robotic dog on you. In it’s robotic mouth was a large syringe loaded with a knock-out drug. It bit you, and the lights went out.

But the writing was very good, and a number of things predicted in Star Trek TOS have come true.

Although they underestimated some things, like the sophistication of computer hardware and the miniaturization of communications technology. All the "communicators" were "flip-phones," twenty years before the "flip phone" was invented.
