Never liked the woman off camera or on. Definitely far left.

I heard St. Olaf is holding a memorial complete with a 20-herring cannon salute in her honor. RIP.
To: CtBigPat
Awwwww.
I first saw her in a comedy series, Life with Elizabeth (52-55).
She is one of the last legends of early American television.

I loved that character, too. Not only were the St. Olaf stories funny, the reactions of the other ladies when she launched into one made it even more hilarious.

Prayers to her family! Great actress, especially on Password which was hosted by her husband. Most famous for MTM and Golden Girls....

I recall her using extremely foul language during some appearances in recent years, and thought how sad and unbecoming for someone who I thought of as a genuine lady. Turned me off to her.
To: V K Lee
One of the MTM show I remember was when she was cooking a dish on 'The Happy Homemaker' and she took the dish out of the oven and it was cooked, so she said, 'Even the Happy Homemaker can make mistakes. We will be back after these messages.' When the director said 'Cut!', Betty said, 'Whos the idiot who didn't turn on the oven. You're fired.'
She was a great actress!

I know, mind your own business. I don’t think she was an Ed Asner liberal, but someone who is a libertarian.
