The sentiment I’m reading in editorials is, the ‘herd’ that is trying to protect the elderly and children, are fast losing interest in catering to or protecting the few able bodied folks who refuse to protect themselves, refuse to test, refuse to self-quarantine, impede herd immunity, and who contribute nothing to the herd’s safety. Especially if they happen to be the least vaccinated group, ie Republicans. Whose team are the antivaxers on, anyway, that they are gleefully handing power to the Dems on a silver platter of dead Republican bodies?

How are conservatives who opposed vax mandates, regard the general "mask hysteria" as excessive (who, e.g., see no benefit to wearing masks outside), are in excellent physical condition and therefore have little personal fear re. Covid, or who view their naturally-acquired immunity (because they already had Covid) impeding herd immunity?

Last year, I laughed at the draconian measures, contracted Covid, and am now immune (i.e., am enjoying a higher level of immunity than any man-made vax could provide). How can you claim that I am impeding herd immunity?

On the contrary, by contracting Covid, I contributed to herd immunity.

Regards,

You also contributed to the likelihood of variants.

Every time the virus enters a host and begins to copy itself, it increases the likelihood of variants—variants that may or may not recognize you immunity.
