This isn't new. They've been distorting statistics from the start. If you had a postive PCR test within the 60 days prior to your death, if you die of long-term morbidities as expected by your loved ones, you can still be counted as a Covid death.

If you weren't tested but died, the hospital can 'presume' it was Covid, no test required.

You posted a “before” article from 9 Nov, and an “after” from 30 Dec. The discovery of Omicron was announced on 24 Nov. By 28 Dec, we were setting all time record highs for new case numbers.
