I believe the goal is the destruction of the United States.
“Divorce” means they win. Their next step will be to go after what we have left. “Divorce” won’t end the fight.
I think she’s right.....but some states will need to break up. For example outside of Chicago, Illinois is ruby red.
been saying this for years. Call it a “Constructive Divorce.” The states rework their interstate compact to re-fine where we co-operate. Military attacks, trade, and driver’s licenses codified.
Laws on health marriage divorce adoption and the like. Strictly state matters. Federal tax laws for federal matters as redefined.
Applications for permanent residency from one state to another a must. Federal courts must determine overarching issues. Checks and balances reestablished and USSC told to pound sand when enough states agree.
It will when her usefulness runs out. IF she loses GA next year I expect that money pipe begins to dry up.
Bingo. As I tell people, the original constitution was lost at Appomattox.
It pretty much happening anyway. Florida is getting over 1000 people a day.
People seemto either cherish Freedom or security. That’s the divide, with emotional thinkers on the “more security!” side, and Critical Thinkers on the Freedom side.
MGT has the right sentiments, but is wrong in calling for a national POLITICAL divorce. Why: it’ll take many years and is unlikely to happen in any case. Plus, you have the very real possibility of it sparking a bloody and unnecessary
civil war. And for what? The same end objective of conservatives being able to be free, to govern themselves, and be left alone is readily obtainable by living in the deep red states. The key is CULTURAL separation and divorce. Politics is not an end, its a means to an end. And a lousy one at that.
Those who want to have freedom and be around people who appreciate conservative values can do so for the price of a u-haul. There is no reason to beat our heads against a wall to ask for something that will likely never be granted.
As for the locust phenomenon, that can be partially addressed by seeking out the remaining conservatives in deed blue areas and politely asking them to leave and come join us. States like California and New York are lost to us. The remaining conservatives living there are going to be the future victims of their leftist overlords. We’ve seen this movie before and it doesn’t end well. So let’s get the conservatives still living in the deep blue areas out. They will be great assets to our conservative communities and culture in whatever red area they land.
Build that wall! Build that wall!
With all respect, the battle for Oregon as a state is likely lost. The leftist overlords will continue to twist the screws and make the lives for any remaining conservatives as much of a hell as they can. To them you’re not a citizen, you’re a kulak, a counter-revolutionary. And when their schemes inevitably fail, conservatives will be the scapegoats.
I truly hope you’ll consider relocating.
Relocating is really not an option for me, for many reasons. Nor should I have to. I love where I’m at and in a very red county. I am not at all young, have farm animals that depend on me, so if this is the hill I stand and die on, then so be it.
“Exactly. That’s why talk of splitting the country is a pipedream. Best we can push for is greater federalism.”
You’re right: it is a pipe dream at this point. A CULTURAL divorce though is within our grasp and doesn’t depend on getting the permission of TPTB.
A cultural divorce will happen/is happening on its own. Just a natural consequence of having two such divergent sets of ideals.
Fight at every level starting with the school board. (we did and we won)
Now that volunteers know its possible they're coming out in droves to get more involved.
In Colorado we expect to flip the legislature and at least neutralize Polis if not defeat him.
We also expect to regain a U.S. Senate seat.
If we get somebody that I disagree with 20% of the time, should I have preferred somebody I disagreed with 100% of the time?
Grow up! You don't get Heaven on Earth!
“Does ANYONE have an actual plan???”
Yes. I’ve been beating the drum over it for awhile. My plan is a lot simpler, and is already happening anyways: CULTURAL separation and divorce. Persuade conservatives living in deep blue areas to relocate to already red areas and build our numbers. Ultimately when you’re already living in a conservative area, it grows on you. There is synergy. There is freedom. Those who try to impose leftist edicts are ignored or resisted. Check out the number of people who wear masks in, say, Cheyenne Wyoming versus those in say Cambridge Massachusetts.
If you think about it formal, political separation (if any) is going to come years after the culture has already made it a reality.
You are correct. While no one could ever change her mind, folks like her can’t see that in their futures. They think they’ll be in the mix forever and only grow in popularity. They all want to be Clinton, Pelosi or even a Brazile. Not gonna happen.
—”I feel this is less extreme than some of the solutions I consider.”
You are not alone in that thinking...
“What I still wonder about is, for example, blue states taking steps that would be utterly unacceptable to the red states in ways that directly impact the red.”
That sounds like the same song but different verse as “pre-civil war.” Let’s see. Does the Tariff of Abomination sound familiar? The industrial north (blue states) loved that deal and the south (red states) paid the price and DID NOT love that deal. Just another straw that was piled on in the pre-civil war era that finally broke in 1861.
“Of course, the correct answer is that those states and cities are in open violation of the Supremacy clause, defying the exclusive Federal jurisdiction over immigration.”
I agree, but what makes you believe that is likely to change? It’s been going on now for well over a decade.
It is certainly true that there are islands of blue in many red-state areas. The same was true in 1861 though probably not quite as severe.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene needs to introduce a resolution for Congress to propose a new amendment to the Constitution to the states that would do nothing more than repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments if states chose to ratify it, little or no discussion needed.
The resolution predictably wouldn’t go anywhere in Democratic-pirated, tax-happy Congress. But it would raise public awareness that federal government is unconstituitonally big because of these foolish amendments imo.
—”Funny dream. Zero reality.”
Yes.

Secession
It's time for us to jettison those who reject our national values because there's no changing them. Time to secede.
We should extend the invitation to secede on a county by county basis.
While we're at it, since we'd be forming a new country, we should extend the invitation to counties in Canada and Mexico as well.
Note that this option is becoming increasingly popular.
