I’m in the same position, but I opted not to participate in the study. Also, I DC’d Humira (it wasn’t getting me to where my rheum wanted me to be), failed infusions and am on Taltz waiting impatiently to fail it in another month or two so I can move on to something else that hopefully works for me. The last year has sucked with regard to my PSA/AS related health issues. I’ve been going everywhere unmasked, been indoors among large groups of people daily, no real COVID related issues for about two years.

Sorry you're going through all that and not finding a med that helps you.

The thing about being on Humira is that it actually provides protection against the China virus. I wrote about this extensively somewhere in the past 6-8 months about it and how it likely saved my life when I got infected early on in the pandemic back in Feb. 2020. My specialist thinks that because Humira turns off the inflammation gene, I was likely spared the worst inflammation and it getting into my lungs.

So the study I participate in checks my antibody levels every 6-8 weeks and so far, I still have them and in pretty good supply.

Enough so that my GF came down with the China virus and even after being directly exposed to it by her (we spent the night together while it was brewing inside her and neither of us knew) I didn't come down with it.

That's probably the fifth or sixth time since the pandemic started and after I myself had the virus that I've been directly exposed and not come down with it. This Omicron variant is so broad based though that who knows, I may come down with it myself sooner or later.

GF is in what the CDC calls "Day Four" of her infection and the fever is gone, the head congestion is letting up and she's feeling much better. I have to keep reminding her to rest so she can fully recover as quickly as possible. Can't keep her down though. She's a bundle of energy.

I hope you find something that works for you and gives you relief from your PSA/AS issues very soon. I know the pain of AS and how it really wears one down. Sending a prayer up for you. Stay safe.
