The kidney damage is a well documented pathology of COVID. The use of kidney tissue removed the immune system from the experiment and showed the virus itself caused cellular damage and fibrosis. But it’s one study, and for the average Joe, it doesn’t matter if the virus caused the damage or if it was caused by the immune response. For doctors and researchers, it’s much more important to understand this.
