Feeling despondent... What can we do?

For me, the most disturbing thing is how our formerly trustworthy healthcare system became our enemy over the span of just one year. They’re not even trying to hide their disdain for us.

More than a year. Obamacare did this. Most doctors are part of the big system created by 2,500 pages(you have to pass it to see what's in it) red tape bureaucracy. They are now cogs in a big machine. The other part of it is that they've been educated in universities, almost all of which teach marxist ways.

I'd like to know what we can do?

Omicron is here and will end this. People are waking up to the fact that nothing fedgov or certain state governments did, helped and yes, that includes Warp Speed. I don't care if people get mad at this but Trump was duped. Now he runs around bragging about the thing he got duped by, Warp Speed. Dr Peter Breggin has a book out that is similar to RFK Jr's book in that it's fully cited. It shows that Warp Speed, minus the name, was developed a decade ago. It really bothers me that Trump talks up the jabs like he's going for a salesman of the month award. He is who he is. I remember his bankruptcies back in the 80s and 90s. It was never his fault. The man puts his name in 15 foot tall letters on his buildings. The interiors have so much gold, it's downright gaudy. BUT, he's still the best president we've had. I'll vote for him just to get the damn wall done.

I'd like to know what we can do?

Cliche time. Be the change you want to see in the world. There's a concept in permaculture of zones. I'll add a lower level called Zone 0. Take care of yourself is zone 0. Take care of your house, Zone 1. Take care of your yard, Zone 2. Since permaculture is about growing food and self sufficiency, it goes out to Zone 3 being your garden that's outside of your yard and Zone 4 being the outer, forest part of your land which is simply maintenance if anything.

Converting it to life in general, you could add zones like Zone 5 being take care of your community. Find like minded people near you and brainstorm on ways to improve/change things where you live. You could start a MeWe group for your county and have local meetups. Maybe one or more of you can get involved in local politics. School board, city council, house rep. If you think you can teach, become a teacher. While Trump's working from the top down on the GOP,(not perfection but something) there are quite a few people working from the bottom up by becoming Precinct Committemen/women. Half of all seats are empty in most places so if you find an empty slot and run for it, you're in. Bannon's been talking about this on occasion. https://precinctstrategy.com/

Even if you don't become a precinct committee-person, you can volunteer for a candidate. Make phone calls, go door to door, send out mailings, plant signs. You know, maybe some libertarian running as repub? Find the next Rand or Massie and help them.

BUT as per above. Take care of you. Take care of your house. Take care of your yard. Take care of your community. Take care of your State. The states need to be fixed. Look at the repub legislators that allowed themselves to be usurped by the left on election rules. Work to oust the ones that didn't so much as speak up. As you take care of each zone, it will give you hope, confidence and motivation to take care of the next.

Also, the AA serenity prayer works for everyone, not just alcoholics. It actually seems fitting for our corrupt cultural/political situation.

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;

It’s not easy though as I’m probably younger than most here and for my age group it’s all about drinking/socializing & going out

Get back on your meds. I don’t support Trump when he lies about his damn vaccine. Voluntary or forced, Trump’s lying about it entices the gullible to put themselves at risk. Trump, who is unquestionably lying, will pay a heavy price among conservatives who value honesty. Then there are guys like you out here carrying water for the BS.
