These misguided souls sure do want to discard a lot of happiness. This is just like not allowing "Song of the South" to be played anymore, even though it does not glorify slavery. It merely acknowledges its existence. But it goes beyond that. The stories that Uncle Remus tells are wonderful children's stories that teach right from wrong in addition to being delightfully funny. But, they choose to bury that man's wholesome contribution to society just because he was a slave. Uncle Remus should be celebrated!
