I'm not a doctor, just a lay person, but after watching this series of videos from Med-Cram (see my FR thread Medcram COVID-19 Cram - A Video Guide to COVID-19 and How It Appears to Work at the Biomolecular Level), I'm coming to the conclusion that the initial designation of COVID-19 as a Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) is wrong, and therefore all of the efforts to combat it based on this wrong diagnosis is doomed to fail.

I think COVID-19 is turning out to be an epithelial syndrome based on the virus binding to the ACE2 receptors in epithelial cells and disabling them. Shutting down the ACE2 receptors is resulting in a cascade effect that ends up causing O₂ oxidation and oxidative stress.

The oxidative stress is what is damaging the organs, causing blood clotting and strokes, causing breathing issues due to low oxygen absorption within the lungs, and ultimately organ failure as the body's goes through antioxidant depletion from runaway free radicals.
