I’ve heard a rumor here in California, that Tesla is working with landlords to generate a home-recharging solution. What’s been happening is that people drive their electric vehicles home, recharge in the common areas which skyrockets the electric bill but for THEM, THEY don’t have to pay the cost. So landlords are closing off common area electrical outlets right and left.

Tesla has a solution that makes it so the electricity drain can be charged to the tenant. But it is not yet released because it’ll cause trouble in the marketplace.

Interesting that common areas would have 220v outlets.
Those things take forever (like 4 days) to charge on a 110.

The Tesla owners I know have 220v home garage chargers. They get a break for charging at off hours. The chargers are smart and coordinate with the electric companies. Musk’s vision is for them to eventually charge using a home solar roof and not need the grid.

Capitalism at work, solving issues with reasonably billing consumers.

Contrast socialism, which would likely forbid landlords from addressing the issue, causing rent to skyrocket.
