What does not work are degrees in gender studies, feminist studies, social work, with a minor in fisting.
His girlfriend is Peruvian, so he’s working on the Spanish!
RE: His school has an employment guarantee.
Now, that’s a school worth enrolling in. Mind sharing with us the name of tge school?
I have little sympathy for the little wokesters. Try finding a job in 1982 in teeth of very serious recession, 9% interest on student loans, and wages pegged to 2.75/hr. min wage.
But he wants to work for Tesla. Maybe next year. Wants to get some experience at Electric Boat.
My granddaughter is working on her PHD in Bio Pharma etc etc with a masters in something associated. She teaches and works at the Vet Center in RI.
Pleased
All my children are in their mid 50s, College Grads and work their butts off.
It's all about ethics.
Wow! Most impressive. Nice job, Sac!
Capitol Technology University in Maryland. Small private engineering school
Thanks for the info. I must admit I’ve never heard of this school. Worth looking into...
Not surprised. They only have about 500 students. If you don’t work at NASA or NSA you’ve never heard of it.
Be proud of that, Dad. He’s probably pulling in more $$$ than any starting position in any company. After a few years of hands-on business experience (e.g., showing up on time, working in difficult situations, etc) he will be gold to any company to take on as a supervisor.
How much is the tuition for the school?
When he was there it was about $1000 more a year than the University of Maryland.
No dorms. They have an apartment building. Want to eat? Learn to cook.
That’s the way it was in 82-as well. Sometimes timing is not your friends.
I’ve heard Electric Boat has been hiring like crazy.
Just went by the local independent auto repair place.
Big sign in front
HIRING MECHANICS $30/HR
My prediction is that they will wind up marrying sisters. And if they don't hurry up...I'll never be a great grandmother
Someone I know is sleeping in their car. They cannot find an IT gig. The Indian bodyshops were offering $25 per hour as a contractor, with no benefits.
I suggested that this guy look to see if Amtrak is hiring train crew for the Northeast Corridor. Better work environment + better pay + benefits + no Desi idiots to deal with.
‘84 wasn’t any better than ‘82
I know my friends with new engineering degrees had a bad time finding work in ‘84
I just went to Capitol Technology’s website. This particular confident guarantee stuck out:
“We’re positive you’ll receive a job offer within 90 days of graduation, or we’ll waive the tuition cost for 36 additional undergraduate credits.”
NOW THAT, is a school worth enrolling in. And all of its degrees are in the STEM fields. No fluff degrees, just hard core science and technology that trains you to be productive immediately.
We need more schools like this.
As an independent agency, the FDIC offers the regular federal 401k and their own 401k, both matching 100 percent up to 5 percent of earnings.
IOW, you're banking 20 percent of your pay.
