How long after the Christmas party did you start getting chills and body aches?

Was this on Christmas, or was it a work or social Christmas party earlier in the week?

I’m just curious, because if the part was yesterday, your symptoms seemed to come on very very quickly

It was about 9 PM last night that I started to feel symptoms during the party. Who knows where or when I could have picked it up.

I had a bad allergy attack almost 2 months ago. Had a productive cough for about 2 weeks, because I smoke.

Other than that, have not been sick since November 2019.

Live in NYC. Ride subway and bus daily, maskless.

My son in law’s family all came down with covid just a few days after a funeral. Some were in denial and went to the funeral knowing they were sick, but not knowing it was covid. This morning, one of the people who got infected by the sick ones, was found dead in his home.

At least allow someone to bring you a home test.

We have a box of them here at the house for “just in case”. That way, if your condition worsens like in severe shortness of breath, you can tell medical workers you tested positive at home.

If you’re sick, stay home even if initially it feels like a light cold. Covid is incredibly contagious and others might not fare as well as you. At least rule out covid before you go in public and you can do that simply by keeping a few tests on hand.

I can give you a somewhat controlled situation of contracting covid. My son, lives 4 hours away, came home to deer hunt on Thanksgiving night. We spent Friday together most of the day in the woods, getting our hunting stuff ready and had a couple of beers at the local watering hole. We hunted Saturday, he had a successful hunt, we took care of the deer, got it out of the woods and we skinned it that night. Both feeling fine. He went out for dinner with some old friends afterward. Sunday morning I went back out and shot a deer but needed help finding it. Called him to come help. By about 10 am he said he was feeling bad and was going back to the house. He talked to his fiance, who still back in their shared home 4 hours away, and she told him she couldn’t smell or taste.

Monday morning, 3 days after he came home, I bought a test kit, actually several, and he was positive. My wife checked his temp., 101, and then she checked me, 99.9. We both had it. So he was unknowingly infected when he got to my house Thursday night and I managed to pick it up by Monday. Did I get it Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Seemed very quick to me.
