Are you sure the amount of iodine is correct? I just made the mixture and only 1 teaspoon of the 10% iodine and it’s pitch black. I can’t imagine 2 teaspoons or 2 and 1/2 teaspoons as you mentioned. I’ll wait before trying. Judging by the color I would think 2 teaspoons per quart or even gallon…

hi blue. used table salt. yes, 2.5 teaspoons per cup of water (which 48 teaspoons as i looked up) of 10% is pretty minimal. the color is there of course. it’s not pitch black though by any means. so we’re talking about 5 teaspoons to get to a 1% solution (48/5 = 9 remainder 3) so 2.5 teaspoons would be about .4% or not even 1%.

the dilution factor for 1% solution would be 9 teaspoons water for 1 teaspoon 10% povidone.

1% is recommended by a frontline doctor. she says to drop it into your nose on your back. hold it for a while then swallow. so i’ve changed over to that method.

Oh wow, you’re able to swallow it? I’ve only read to gargle and swish it around and spit it out never to swallow. Also thought only the Lugol’s Iodine was able to be added to drink.

Also with the Lugol’s they recommend drops per cup of water which is why the 2 teaspoons per cup seemed extreme. But if that’s what you’ve been using I’ll try it now. Thanks.

yeah. i know. kinda of intense, but if you’re interested in killing the virus, down the gullet. again not a doctor, i can only speak for what i’ve done myself. as soon as i’m done with this batch, i’m going to make a 4 teaspoon batch :)

Awesome! I guess I’ll add the 2nd teaspoon. I don’t have Covid but i do have a cold and respiratory infection, so this should also help with that. Thanks again dadfly and prayers for you and family. Thanks to you I can finally take the povidone treatment as i scoured the web and there was no specific recipe on how to make it. If this can treat Covid effectively, I can’t believe this isn’t treatment isn’t easier to find and promoted more by the medical community.

Well after the first diluted 1 teaspoon povidone iodine per cup of water, I can breathe better from the one nostril that was completely blocked. Hope it continues to improve. How many treatments per day do you do?

Sorry to keep bothering you about this, but wanted to ask if this nasal treatment with Povidone and gargling is good for regular colds and infections? I’ve been doing it since the 29th and my symptoms went from sniffles and sneezing and stuffy nose too severe coughing and then I was coughing for 2-3 days and now the coughing is subsiding but my sinuses feel severely infected again. Does this work for sinus infections or is this possibly making it worse? I’m actually taking antibiotics now as i started that treatment once the cough was severe and getting deeper.

i’ve been doing it since we last talked. the 6 drops in each nostril and try to hold it in the back of the throat for a few minutes since swallowing.

for me, it ususally clears up th sinus for a while. when i start getting stuffy again, i blow and use a sinus spray like flonase.

right now, i’m pretty stuffy, but i think that’s the normal progression of the ccp virus for me. once it started getting a productive cough, i also got the snot factory going too.

and you’re sure you’ve got your solution up to 1%. my last batch used 4 1/2 teaspoons of 10% in slightly less than a cup (45 teaspoons). a cup being 48 teaspoons. i remember feeling a slight burning in the back of my nose when i did it right the first time (6 drops each nostril).
