It's not a matter of bravery. The threats and virtual mobbing take place from behind the keyboard. People should not be intimidated by that.

Reading comments here, and reflecting on my own experience, I think it would be better to say that quite a few Freepers have become worn out and exasperated with the constant nonsense and bully mobs, and seeing very little backup from like-minded reasonable members here, have drifted away.
It does become tiresome to constantly feel one is swimming against the tide here, but really, if we want to save FR from the sewer of insane conspiracy nonsense, we must persevere and remain vocal.
