Does the adage “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people” apply to high tech?
Blake Resnick, CEO of BRINC, a company in the chase to sell drones to police, has developed a drone equipped with stun guns, according to The Intercept. Resnick is a 21-year-old entrepreneur who recently received $25 million in venture capital from Silicon Valley investors. Resnick was recently inducted into Forbes’ “30 under 30” list and is a recipient of a Thiel Fellowship.
Resnick appears to be an impressive young man.
According to The Intercept, Resnick told Stuart Varney of Fox Business his company’s drones are now helping police defuse dangerous hostage situations on a near-daily basis. In the interview, Resnick repeated the claim that he created the company “in large part” as a response to the 2017 Las Vegas massacre. Resnick wanted to help law enforcement to save lives with nonviolent robots equipped with artificial intelligence.

If we wanted to stop illegal aliens, we should build a fence......../s
So, prepare a video showing this thing in action at the border, complete with writhing “victims” after the tasering.
You wouldn’t even need to deploy very many, the story alone would freak out enough people to slow them down.
Just tell them it injects the vaccine.
No, we should spend a ton of money on a boondoggle that probably won't work. That's the government way.
The developer apologized and said he never intended for the video to get out. So, it appears this is not happening as the title suggests.
You want to stop illegals, stop making it legal to help them. If you hire them, you get fined. No school for them. No healthcare for them, and immediate deportation for them.
The part that blows me away is every kid coming across the border is going to end up getting $12k a year in assistance until they are 18.
The country needs immigrants. Our birth rate is so low, we need people to “do stuff” and make stuff. I wish we could wrap our heads around that—and adjust our immigration policy. But no, the folks in DC just want to keep doing this dance.
This could end in a week if we elected people with some brains.
Can it be retrofitted with a Vulcan cannon?
>>>Just tell them it injects the vaccine.<<<
Actually, it is far more believable that that is exactly what one of these drones would be programmed to do . . . to American citizen anti-vaxxers.
Don’t taze me, Hermano.
They just screamed for an investigation because some border patrol horse patrol guys slapped the horse with reins.
Imagine the outcry when you have illegal aliens getting zapped on the border!
Oh, the humanity!
Yep. This evil technology will be used on Americans before it is applied to illegals.
The police state is here—and this time it is using technology with total, pinpoint reach.
Wouldn’t F-18’s and Napalm work better??
It is already possible for anyone to buy a drone equipped with a flamethrower. People have already built privately owned drones with remotely operable firearms attached to them. The latter may be illegal in most jurisdictions, but that's never stopped criminals, terrorists, or insurgents before.
Personally I'd like to see fewer remote controlled killing machines, but unfortunately they'll probably be as common as a Glock 19 in twenty years.
I suspect that our border patrol agents would rather interdict illegal immigrants on a person to person basis than have to exist in an environment where flying things are zooming around and your first problem is to figure out if they are friendly or not before you can even get out of your truck to have a coffee.
I know I would rather not have drones flying around me which might or might not be there to cause trouble. Who needs to get robbed by a drone?
If we wanted to stop illegal aliens, we should build a fence

Or install tower mounted remotely operated quad 50s every 1000 yards.
The “might or might not” question won’t be a factor here. My place has always been a drone free zone. FAA 500 foot flight rules will be enforced. Most likely by my friend Mr Winchester and a couple rounds of OO buck. Then there’s always rifle grenades which are good for at least 900 feet. Makes for a bad day for anything that doesn’t look like a chicken hawk. These folks can concentrate on border swimmers.
Democrats said the fence wouldn’t work. They should finish it and prove it to us
Fry a couple of corpses and let them lay around. Spread the work that tazers did it.
I, for one, welcome our new robot overloads.
A weii regulated militia could easily take care of the situation at the border.
