My first car was a used and abused 61 Chevy Biscayne. And yes while it gave a teenager freedom, it also made me cry. First car that i ever took to 95 mph , in W Va , Byrd Hwy, with a sleeping girlfriend, now and still wife.

And regular gas was 27 cents a gallon.

The big advantage of my four door '66 Dodge Dart was clear when I was courting my soon to my bride in 1996. Lap belts only, and a front straight bench seat meant that she could snuggle up to her driving boyfriend in a way that NO car allows today (#$%^ center console!).
